Bulletproof was born Damian Smythe on a cold Brooklyn morning in 1975.The middle child of middle class parents,his father was in "construction" and his mother was a corparate Lawyer.Having little time for family the children were forced to fend almost entirely for themselves.Damian soon adapted to the mean streets of his hometown.Learning how to fight was just a way of life on these streets,it was a means of survival.In high school Damian had a rough time adjusting to school life and got into alot of altercations,which led his principal to try and find alternate outlets for damians anger and aggression,he suggessted wrestling.Damian joined the wrestling team and quickly became a crowd favorite because of his unorthodox moves,moves he copied from watching wrestling on T.V. many of these moves were banned in high school wrestling matches,but in Brooklyn nobody cared!Bored with high school wrestling Damian seeked other more competitive ways of fighting which led to a brief stint in the "toughman" competition.Before long he was wrestling in underground unorganized and downright dangerous extreme wrestling matches.It was here he got his first chance at breaking through when he wrestled and up and coming ECW wrestler named Tazz!Tazz and Damian(then using a satanic like gimmick) wrestled in a barbed wire scaffold match that rocked all five hundred people jammed into an abonded warehouse,yes this career was on the move!!!
A month after his big match with Tazz Damian was approached by Tazz who said that ECw was interested in giving a then nineteen year old Damian a contract.After several meetings between Damian and ECW he finally signed a short term contract.Damian wrestled in ECW for two years and its there were he earned the name "Bulletproof",they started calling him that because no matter what you did to him he always got back up win or lose he kept fighting like nothing effected him.The name stuck and he had a new gimmick-"bulletproof"!!
In early 2000 Bulletproof joined an up and coming Wrestling federation called the SMD wrestling federation.A haven for WWF wrestlers and other wrestlers as well,were hardcore matches and bloody battles are the norm,and were Bulletproof feels right at home.He has achieved moderate success in the SMD(now WSF) capturing the Hardcore title three times and the Intercontinental belt twice.Although he is probably best known for fueding with the ultimate hardcore wrestler and resident psycho Purgatory!Purg and Bulletproof have had some real nasty battles over the last few months and although Purgatory usually gets the better of him,Bulletproof continues to take it and get back up for more ,still deserving of the name Bulletproof!!
Bulletproof's finishing move is a nasty scissor kick called the buckshot!It has been ripped off by many wrestlers including Bull Buchanan.So if you wanna good fight that will leave you broken and bloody and if you got the balls step up to Bulletproof and get shot!!!
